As an issue that is both global and local, environmental protection is at the centre of our daily action. Dalkia has deployed an environmental management system (EMS) to drive continuous improvement in this area.

Conserving energy resources

Optimising the selection of primary energy sources means choosing the most appropriate energy or energies for each situation, depending on local opportunities and the technical, economic and regulatory environment.

  • In an environment of fluctuating energy prices, we play a major role as an energy broker for our customers.
  • Our purchasing power, combined with the diversity of the sites we manage, allows us to offer significant guarantees concerning volumes and prices.
  • By using a variety of fuels, such as fuel oil, wood, natural gas and coal, at a single facility, we have greater flexibility in managing supplies to ensure that customers benefit from the most attractive fuel mix at all times.

Enhancing energy efficiency and limiting environmental impact

Technical optimisation and quality maintenance enhance the efficiency of our customers' facilities. Our strategy:

  • Reduces energy consumption, for an equal level of comfort and performance.
  • Promotes cogeneration to improve overall production efficiency, by generating both heat and power, while lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Makes use of desulphurization units, filters, low NOx burner systems and similar equipment to help reduce other emissions.
  • Combats climate change, with instruments like CO2 permits and white certificates.

Encouraging rational energy use

We leverage our skills and resources to encourage rational energy use at customer facilities. These include:

  • Automated devices to manage facility operation based on building occupancy/vacancy or industrial process needs.
  • Solutions to improve heating control systems in residential buildings.

Day after day, we partner with customers to use energy more efficiently in meeting their specific needs.
